Finding Hope in a Dark Soul It is amazing how long an image can be in your head before it’s time to paint it! With all that is going on in the World, it was time to express it. I was attending a party about twenty-five years ago, give or take a few parties; it could have been twenty-seven years. I was having a conversation with a young man that communicated his life with many hardships, struggles and hard times, yet he was a fighter. As it has been said, the eyes are the windows to the Soul. I looked into his eyes and as I looked, his eye color changed to all black. I could see the darkness of his soul and as I went deeper into the darkness, something began to get my attention and it was a flower growing in all that darkness. I could see that deep inside this young man, there was Hope in his future that gave me hope in my own experience in this life. Whenever I feel hopeless, I reflect upon my moment with true soul.
